Our Ministries
Chanters, Readers, & Choir
Participating in the Divine Liturgy through the gift of voice is a sacred responsibility. In fact, in the Orthodox Church, our hymns and responses are “prayed” by our chanters and Choir members, rather than "sung."

Acolytes or Altar servers assist the clergy during services. They might carry the cross, candles or liturgical fans in processions and entrances; maintain the censer, ensuring it has enough live charcoal, loading it with incense and handing it to the priest when required; preparing the hot water (zeon) in time for it to be added to the chalice at the Divine Liturgy; prepare the antidoron for the people to receive after Holy Communion; and any other necessary tasks. Altar servers must be on time each Sunday and participate at the special services throughout the year.
Chanters, Readers, & Choir
Participating in the Divine Liturgy through the gift of voice is a sacred responsibility. In fact, in the Orthodox Church, our hymns and responses are “prayed” by our chanters and Choir members, rather than "sung." We encourage our faithful to come study with our chanters and to consider joining our Choir. Both ministries present us with an opportunity to get more involved in the Church's liturgical life and a vehicle for putting our unique musical gifts to work for the glory of God.
